Storage & Security

In the digital realm, most homes rely on a myriad of electronics that contribute to day-to-day functions, including computers, hard drives, and printers, to name a few.

It’s a fact that we’ve all experienced power outages, hard drive failures, and/or malware issues. Some of us have even experienced theft and natural disasters.

Aside backing up hard drives and protecting personal property, it’s hard to defend against natural disasters.

ProStamm is a cloud-based genealogy program. Your genealogy information is secure, once it’s in our system. But, you still need to make sure that all your physical genealogical files are stored in a safe place.

A cardboard box or folders in a drawer is NOT a safe place. Digitize and backup everything!

Storage and Security

Our storage and security provider is Amazon Web Service (AWS). They provide security to ensure privacy and controlled access and application firewalls. Cloud security at AWS is their highest priority. Their infrastructure puts strong safeguards in place to help protect our privacy. All data is stored in highly secure AWS data centers, which are designed to keep data safe.

Cloud data security is the responsibility of the subscriber (user) as well as ProStamm.

It is important to keep your password safe and not use it with multiple platforms. When creating a password, always add letters, numbers, and symbols. Do not share passwords with others.

When you invite (FCF) family members to access and contribute information to the family record, you’re opening the door to others. Please make certain that you trust those that are invited.

ProStamm is a genealogy program. It is not intended for the storage of private and personal information such as Social Security Numbers, Bank Account Numbers, or anything else that, if hacked, could cause personal strife and legal issues for you.

If you feel uncomfortable uploading something – DON’T.

With ProStamm, you never have to install or upgrade genealogy software.

Major changes to the program, such as adding new forms or additional information pages, will be announced to the user on the DASHBOARD, which is the program’s landing page. Minor changes and corrections to the program will not be announced.
